Hi, looking for recommendations for fitters to replace leaky sliding windows in my T6 kombi, in the Bristol, Bath, North Somerset region. And which are the best aftermarket windows to go for?

Speaking from personal experience, I had a Fiamma awning fitted by them and on pick up noticed it was higher at the front, asked if they could adjust it to look more level but they said they couldn’t … don’t affect the winding, just looks unprofessiona!!IMG_4767.webp

Mr Garland supplied the awning and brackets and we just fitted. He supplied the brackets that fit in the roof rail holes (original fixing holes) and therefore, there is only one place that brackets can be fitted. Therefore, it's not possible to get fitment wrong. With these brackets there is no adjustment, so stating that we have done something wrong is incorrect. He's tried to publicly humiliate us online, which we deleted, as it was on our own post. He then took to messaging us. We will not be publicly outed for something we have not done wrong. There is one place to fit brackets that go into original fixing holes and therefore there is no adjustment. He asked us to adjust when we first fitted back in March 2024, we explained why we couldn't and he's now kicking up a fuss again now, over a year later, but won't come down and talk to us, will only try to 'damage' our reputation online. He lives very local to us, so there no reason why he can't come and talk to us sensibly. We're welcoming people, we just don't appreciate these online comments when we've done nothing wrong. We'd be happy to look at changing the brackets to get this to work better for him, but without a face to face discussion we cannot go through the options...

Regards,

Chloe

Thanks for clearing that up Chloe but I must pick you up on the incorrect information …. You are correct stating the brackets I gave you were for the ‘original fixing holes’ but you drilled separate ones as the pictures show, which is why the alignment looks out and even though it was at the start of last season I am reminded frequently when people at rallies and campsites start talking to me about the van.
You have never offered me an alternative solution just that they cannot be adjusted.
Chloe, I will always speak as I find, as I use reviews when looking to source items/companies.
You have carried out work for me where I have been quite satisfied and have left good reviews but unfortunately not this time …. Finally, the reason I haven’t been back was because the last time we had any correspondence you said ‘Hi Mark. We’ve already discussed this and gave an answer. 🙂IMG_4930.webpIMG_4931.webp

Can't be sure, but those pictures suggest the correct adhesive under the lower portion of the mount is absent.

Hi Mark, thank you for correcting that. I’m going off the invoice I have and pictures I have. I’ll go back again and say that the brackets are fitted where they should be, based on these images, in line where they should be. We cut the brackets when we need to, along the line where they need to be cut. This is standard practice when a roof is fitted or you cannot use the standard roof fixing holes. You can see that they cannot go any further back towards the roof of the van, so therefore there’s no way to ‘lift the front of the awning’ as you’ve requested. I’m not sure what more we can do, which would be what Leon would have explained to you. I said ‘we gave you an answer’ because you were clearly trying to cause us issues, over trying to get a solution. Posting on one of our adverts saying what you said was not an attempt to get a solution, it was an attempt to cause aggravation. I’m more than happy to help where we can, but we can’t bring that bracket up the van any further with your roof rails in the way, unless we cut the bracket down more, which would weaken it too much, cutting past the guideline. Talk to us and we’ll see what we can do, anyone can see from our great reviews that we’re not bad people. And you know we’re not bad people, but talking is the answer, not messaging. Thanks Mark.

Just popping back on here to say we've had Mark back in and all sorted. We fitted a new bracket to the front, different style, slightly shorter bracket on the height. No new holes made. Previously fitted bracket came off perfectly, with a window removal tool (fibre cutting line), old bond removed with toffee wheel (yes, bond was in place, despite comments from other forum members), new bracket fitted, awning re-fitted and it's now sitting level. Mark is very happy. That's what we are all about, ensuring customer satisfaction. Conversation is very important and Mark had previously spoken to us about this, but we were not sure how we could rectify. With this new window removal tool, we were certain we could remove without damage, so it enabled us to work out an opportunity to fix this for him. We also weren't aware how much brackets could vary on the height. We're glad we could sort this for Mark and thank him for bearing with us and popping in to get this sorted :)
