T6 Caravelle Or Mercedes V-class

I'm torn between the 2, they are similar on price even though every review seems to make out the v-class is much more expensive, it also has a much better spec list as standard.

Anyone owned them both? I'll be getting either the 204 Executive or the v250 Sport (maybe even the AMG Line as there is a good deal being offered on one).

I know there is going to be a bias here, but looking for impartial view.

I can’t really comment as I own a kombi which I bought brand new, it’s a high line with a highish spec, and I’d say is never worth the nearly 50k I paid, not saying I don’t love it because I do, and in my opinion t5-t5.1 and t6 are by far the best looking vans out there,
I’d imagine the merc will be a nice motor but it will prob need new wings and door skins within 5 years as you know it will rust away!

What are you planning to use it for? How near and how good are the local dealers?

Family of 5, but have my nieces quite often hence the 7 seats. I go diving (scuba) quite often without the family so having a large boot when the seats are all pushed forward is required, when going on longer dive trips a row of seats can come out. Having a rear seat that can go flat for the rare 'get your head down' moments would be handy but not required.

Local dealers for both haven't been great so far to be honest, some further away seem better and not much between them.

@Olly hall I'd probably be looking to upgrade\swap after 5 years anyway, although Mercs better than they used to be. Friend has a 5 year old vito kombi with 110k and it never misses a beat, lovely motor.
