B14 v B14 Komfort or Others?

Hi All,

I have never changed suspension parts on any my many cars.....but the ride height difference front to rear is annoying me!

I want to fix this, plus less wallowy feel from the standard T6.1 (T28) dampers/40mm lowering springs the conversion company fitted.

I have a full conversion, pop top etc and 4 of us (2 adults and 2 young kids) regularly travel in the van so we want driveabilty and comfort.

Do coilovers such as the B14 sound the way to go or should I consider some other options? Open minded on budget as I want to focus on ride quality/stability.

thanks and apologies for my ignorance!

Hi Simon,

The absolute best thing you can do is get in touch with Steve at CRS Performance 01543 573633.

I dropped in this week for a complete change of springs and dampers on my T6.1 T32 and I can only say its the best thing I have ever done to any vehicle I have owned. Genuinely I am over the moon with the change, always rated the transporter but the suspension setup really is the worse thing about them...not anymore its like night and day!

All the best, Matt

What did you have fitted by CRS?

My advice is not to get too focused on B14's. Speak to a suspension specialist and let them get an idea of what you will use your Transporter for. Be honest about this, and you won't necessarily need to be open minded about your budget, but what the specialist offers you as a best solution.
If you are intending to change out your wheels to a different size, throw that into the conversation too. I can also recommend @CRS Performance with confidence.

Good luck.

Thank you, will call Steve.

Van is already on 20s as an aside. I think you can see the ride height issue from this pic!

My advice would be to try all options before you buy a setup - We run demo vehicles for all of the kits we have in stock.

We are increasingly removing kits fitted elsewhere, where the wrong advise has been given again and again....and never fit a kit adapted from T30 to T32

Always happy to chat through options on the phone.

Edited after seeing your reply above;

KW are a great option, we fit lots of these kits.

Please make sure you get it properly aligned afterwards.

What upgrade did you end up fitting Simon?

I’ve had b14 komforts fitted for about 6 weeks now can’t fault them ride has been transformed and handles great
Its enhanced the van as you can keep the momentum through the bends
I did read there were issues with the original b14s but I think this has been ironed out with the komforts
There not cheap but I found on par price wise with other offerings
Like others have said try a few different setups in demo vans I did and picked the komforts

Thanks for that info ,

The KW V1 and Eibach are the exact same kit , different names , both made by KW actually so i guess they felt the same ??
Solows i would never consider in a grown up conversation Ha ha

I asked the question because we have had a few clients ask us to remove the B 14 komfort kit , and i was eager to know what the choices were for you , oddly we have fitted the KW product into the vans that used to have B14 Konfort , and clients thought they were better ?? , Was there any thing particular you liked about the B14 over the KW assuming you did a back to back test, or was it the slightly bigger drop on the B14 that you wanted .

Thanks for sharing your experience however, I am a glutton for knowledge and as we do Tons of vans each month i like to keep tabs on market trends and customers likes and dislikes ?

It’s was mainly down to the slightly bigger drop and also I’d read one of your post stating that the rear springs were much improved on the komforts
Yes the kw and vw were very similar apart from the price vw were £1895 fitted I think you quoted me 1250 plus fitting
I got the komforts done for £1552 fitted
