T6/6.1 Newbie with questions

Hi all, I'm very pleased to be a part of this forum, been a member for a while but finally getting to the 'seriously looking to buy' stage with T6 or 6.1's for the family and our adventures in mind. Found the forum a useful resource to understand the Transporter world and I'm hoping to pose a few questions that have been rattling in by brain for a bit.
Apologies in advance if this has been covered in other threads - I'd appreciate any links sending me in the right direction. Please bear with me if these are obvious or silly questions to be asking.
so, here goes :-

1 - Bluemotion technology in T6.1s ? I've noticed that the T6's have BMT tags on Autotrader descriptions but not on the 6.1's. Has it been phased out / been made standard in the 6.1 range ?
2 - Lowering / suspension upgrade - I've noticed this is a popular upgrade to smooth the ride & reduce the ride noise - would you recommend it to be done as an early upgrade ? and if so - what sort of cost I should typically expect ? We live in North Wales so any recommendations of converters that take on that kind of work would be greatly appreciated !
3- Removing rear panels - having researched doing the insulation & sound proofing ourselves on youtube, one thing I'm missing is how to safely remove the existing plastic panels from the rear of the van's internal space - do they just screw off ? I've have a habbit of breaking things when attempting to DIY, so keen to learn how its done properly

thanks in advance
Rhys

Welcome to the Bank Balance Reduction Club!

As I understand it, Bluemotion has been superseded by Euro6 technology/regulation, which incorporates some(but not all) of the BM principles. It's therefore standard in the Euro6 models and that's why you don't see later T6s and 6.1s with the badges.

As far as suspension is concerned, I'd say do it as early as you can as it absolutely transforms the way the van handles and drives. As you're in north Wales I'd recommend a trip to see Steve at CRS Performance in Cannock. What he doesn't know about suspension on these vans isn't worth knowing, and he'll recommend the best upgrade for your proposed use and weight, without costing you a fortune. You won't believe the difference compared to the standard factory suspension.

Can't comment on panel removal I'm afraid as I gave my van to specialist to do it all for me. However, I'm sure a bit of searching here on here will reveal all manner of advice.

The only thing I'd add to the above is that if you're planning a camper conversion (or some other mod that will change the unloaded mass of the van) then do that before any suspension/ wheel/ tyre changes.
