T6.1 less than a month old, now showing errors on start up/key power up:
1. Error: hill start assist
2. Front assist unavailable
3. Emergency call restricted. Workshop!
4. Error: ACC

Anyone had similar?

Could be a battery with low charge - that can throw up unusual errors.

Brand new @Pete C so shouldn’t be that problem surely? It’s a Camper conversion, done professionally so I will contact them tomorrow and se3 their response, only picked it up two weeks ago!

Depends how much you use it, and how charged the battery was when it left the converter. How much have you driven it in the 2 weeks ?

Pete

Really, the battery could be that bad? I have only done 150 miles and used it 3 times, still I expect a new van/battery to be tip top for many years.

I don't mean it is faulty, just that it may not be fully charged. Modern vehicles run their batteries down when not being used quite quickly. It it was sat at the convertors for a few weeks, and then you have done limited mileage in the 2 weeks you have owned it, then the battery charge could be low.
A good long run, or getting it charged with a battery charger will fix it, if this is the problem.
Pete

As little as a week or two of being stood can flatten a battery new or otherwise, I would make sure it's got a full charge before taking any further action.

Have you had a towbar fitted at all ?

If you detach the battery for some maintenance it will throw up those errors. Driving the van over 30km/h and shut down and start again clears those. If you're having these symptoms I'd say its battery related.

Assuming you’ve not already got something which does the same job, I’ve just bought one of these after seeing a post on here, to check the battery voltage. Not going to solve your problems, but at least will show if your battery voltage is normal. 3590B1E7-AFF6-49C4-8C9D-617690352D05.jpeg

Frigging passenger window won’t go all the way up!. Goes up to within an inch of the top and then comes down to half way. Acts like a finger trap protect return. Switched off engine, restart and no different. Any ideas this time T6 friends, another electrical anomaly with a brand new van.

Common issue if the battery is disconnected. I’ve had the same a couple of times. It is easily reset, see the post bookmarked below:

What a nightmare you're having!

I had similar issues recently on my T6 when I plugged a dummy fuse into the BCM fuse holder instead of the starter fuse holder.
Van started and ran OK but was getting an error with the radio switching off once the engine stopped as opposed to turning off when the key was removed and when I check my OBD 11 scanner to find out why there were 40 plus error codes!

Two things I would try first would be battery reset and check the BCM fuse.

Battery Reset = Remove negative terminal 1st. Remove positive terminal 2nd. Now touch the Neg and Pos terms together for 10 seconds then reconnect the terms to battery starting with pos then neg.

BCM fuse is a brown mini 5amp in my T6. (Not sure about 6.1 but probably the same.) The fusebox is located lower down from the gearstick under a flap and the fuse is the 4th down from the very top of the fusebox in the right hand row.

Might be worth investing in OBD11 or Carista diagnostics so you can log and investigate any other error codes. You'll also need one to clear the fault codes if you do manage to fix the issue yourself.

If none of the above work then you're probably gonna have to call VW for roadside assistance.

Hope you get to the bottom if it soon.

Thanks @Howzat very informative. Called out VW roadside assistance and diagnosed head unit fault. Said he sorted the passenger window with a re-set, told me it had ‘lost its location’ and the next day it must have lost it again . So now reaches 1cm from top of closing (can’t get it any further up). Booked in to VW dealer but because of Covid not until Tuesday the 13th April! Let you know their diagnosis/repair.

So my t6.1 with 10k on the clock had this intermittent sos fault taken 6 week wait to get booked into dealer , luckily today h warning came on on startimg whoop first time I’ve been happy to see the call the worshop message . So garage could see it . They say faulty module and not software which apparently some early 6.1 need a soft wear upgrade , but on mine they say 100% certain it the module . Funny how when calling nobody new a thing but when it could be seen they technician was yeah loads of issues with these , apparently some other minor recalls out standing on the van which I didn’t know off that they are doing at the same time :)
