Hi All, I've just bought my first van a 6.1 camper conversion (T28 SWB 150bhp) and so far I'm loving it. However...
The van came with 20in rims which look great and the ride is comfortable enough, but it feels and looks too high (I can easily get my fist under the front arches) It also feels a very spongy around corners.
I'm looking for a forum member (quite close to me ideally - Worcester/Bridgnorth/Birmingham etc) to give me some advice on the best suspension/spring options, supply and fit.
I still have 2 year warranty on the van
VW van centre will only lower 30mm and have quoted £840 all in and I keep it fully in warranty. Is 30mm enough to significantly improve the handling? I think the van would look better lowered 40-60 mm especially at the front
I have a budget of approx £1k
I want a specialist here to advise me as I'm willing to go outside of VW for the work, but would like to know its being done by people who really know their sh*t (thats you guys) I'm super new to this as I've leased my cars for the last 20 years, never looked under a bonnet, and certianly never had a van!
If anyones local ish to me let me know as I want to get this done as soon as I can really.
Also I want to thank each and everyone of you regular contributors. I lived on this forum when I was researching my van purchase options. If it hadn't have been for you guys and all the awesome knowledge you share I probably never would have taken the plunge. I'm at Camper Jam next year, hopefully ill get to meet some of you and buy you a beer.
