T6.1 direct TPMS reset .

Hi all ,
I’ve upgraded wheels on my T6.1 and installed the existing TPMS sensors in the new wheels ,
on the main screen (centre dash ) the tyre pressures all ok on Direct TPMS section but on main dash the light flashes for tyres pressures and then stays on after a short distance .

As one screen says it all ok with pressures why doesn’t it reset on dash ?
Has anyone else had this problem with direct TPMS ?

What are the stored pressures vs measured pressures ?

It should sort itself out after being driven but if you are close to the limit and with low temps at the moment you can move in and out of range
Some pics of stereo screen and dash light might be helpful

If your tyres aren't one of the stored options and outside that pressure range you'll need to have the correct values entering into a user defined option using ODIS or VCDS I had to have this done as my dealer fit sportline wheels weren't available to choose from. VW didn't know how to sort it funnyily enough.

Stored pressures are set as required on screen which is showing in brackets , as once u drive for qtr Mile the picture of the transporter changes from dull to vivid and on screen it says tyre pressures all Ok .

Dash tyre pressure light stays on .

@Binda42 Just a thought as I've had similar with mine (although normally shows on both dash & Infotainment screen also)

Toggle the 'Std' to 'Fully loaded' option (or to a different tyre size setting that will trigger the pressure warning anyway) & then drive for a bit after cycling the ignition.

Even if the pressure warnings then come on as the set- 'Full load' /tyre size parameters are different to 'Std'/current size it usually cancels the warning lights if you then toggle back to Std load/current size & carrry on driving after for a bit.

Hopefully that makes sense.

If this doesn't work you'll need a VCDS/ODIS scan to see what the stored fault is, such as faulty sensor/ sensor out of range etc etc

Hi Paul. I'm having the same issue as yourself. I've put a set of 20inch velocity vr1s and realised I do not have a setting that will accommodate the presets. The lowest settings I could find on non loaded was 3.3 bar rear and 3.9 front. Way too high for the rainsport 5's. How did you go about getting this changed?

I went to bognor motors who programmed it in. There are a few places that can do it and are on the forum. @Dav-Tec I think.
I have read you can do it adaptations for the tpms module with OBDeleven or carista and it will enable the individual settings which mine now has. I haven't had my module checked since to see if the values stored tie up though.
But if you want more options and the tyres defined it will need to be done via one of the more advanced VAG tools.

Thanks Paul. I'm west midlands based and will be at dubfest in the next few weeks. Do you know of anyone local to me who can help or may be able to reach out whilst there?

Sorry. I'm not sure. Bound to be someone from here with vcds etc to do the basic settings. Is there a specific thread on here re the event you can ask in?

Thanks Paul. I'll do a some research and see if there is anything I can find. Appreciate your help. Cheers. Brett

What can do you have ?
VCDS can do a single individual profile setting on a 6.1 not sure if it also works on T6 as never tried it
Perhaps someone else can confirm if it works on a 6 @Deaky maybe or @Robert

If you need the full custom profile settings then it needs to be done with ODIS or VCP kit which is a lot rarer kit and generally only businesses have

Nope, VCDS can’t alter tyre settings on a T6, they need to be flashed to the TPMS module with ODIS or VCP

Just been into the TPMS module adaptations with OBDeleven.
If you look at the specified pressures for standard and fully loaded the numbers entered are in bar without the decimal and translate to the individual setting psi on my dash
So I have 27 and 31 which is 39 and 45 psi.
Hope this helps.
