T6 — 150ps purchase — clean higher mileage vs unknown lower mileage...?

Good afternoon everyone everybody.

First time post as pending a purchase (not even bought the van yet but have H&R extreme coil overs on the first thing to do list followed by an OVANO bed & bulkhead on the immediate post purchase shopping list)!

Ok quick question reference the TSI 150ps manual purchase.

Would buyers remorse kick in by purchasing a vehicle with higher mileage vs a basic 150 TSI with 50,000 kilometres for 1 thousand pounds more (slightly over budget).

The following is the spec sheet for the high mileage vehicle :

15,000€
  • 2018 TSI swb
  • 115000 kilometeres — 71000 miles
  • 6 speed manual
  • Wheels Conti 4seasons 4-6 MM
  • Multifunction steering wheel (I believe this is with cruise control or cruise control can be retrofitted at a later date ?
  • Relative close to me (1.5hour train ride)
  • Ready immediately
  • Direct from a VW dealership with 12months warranty
  • Please see attached photographs
The following is for the lower mileage vehicle

16,000 — 19,000€ (they apparently have a couple of varying mileage vehicles)
  • 50,000kms — 30,000 miles
  • Basic spec swb
  • 6 speed manual
  • Opposite side of Germany (either half a days travel or pay for delivery of a vehicle I have not physically seen)
  • A lack of multifunction steering wheel,
  • wind up manual windows
  • No photographs as of yet
  • The basic spec does raise concerns if future modifications / retrofitting at a later date may not be possible due to slightly different looms ‘ coding ?
Really appreciate all of your options and guidance

Thank you in advance.

70,000 miles ain’t high for one of these!
€15,000 seems a bargain in current climate plus if I’m not wrong tsi bit of a rare beast

Van no. 1 would be my choice, the higher spec implies to me that it was bought by somebody for themselves and therfore looked after accordingly.

Evening everybody,
awsome thankyou.
i shall enquire first thing tomorrow and keep you all posted.
was a little scared that petrol are only good for 100 thousand miles?

Go and have a good look at both. Ignore the mileage and see which one you feel better about. Condition and how it drives wins everytime.

I would say it depends on the miles you generally do. I do 400 miles per week so personally i would probably go for the lower mileage option but saying that a tsi is basically a golf gti/golf r engine so here in the uk you can pick them up from any breakers yard. My Tsi is running 300bhp absolute beast of a van!!

Awesome love that.
Is that power only a tune or have you had any other work done?

Sooo update time...
Spoke to the dealer yesterday evening and he stated that somebody else is interested. Got home last night, looked at the photographs and then replied to the dealer offering a deposit and could the vehicle be collected by Thursday this week.
Telephoned the dealer this morning to confirm deposit and the cheeky little devil said the vehicle has been sold!
FFS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So now I wait the photographs of the slightly more expensive lower mileage vehicles.

gutted

No that is just a Pendle Tune Which is a quite popular Company that specialize in Transporter tuning. I may consider a bigger hybrid turbo in the future but many other jobs to do first.

Old skool windows ....

Happy Easter everybody,

So after loosing out on a T6 150ps TSI on Monday / Tuesday earlier this week a second 150TSI has come available at lower mileage.

The issue is that the vehicle only has 50,000 kilometres yet the seat looks heavily worn. Are the VW transporter seats really that naff?

Difficult to go and view as over 4 hours away.

Would only view if happy with the photographs in the first instance — they appear genuine and from a VW dealer with several other vans.

There are also smaller damage on the rear bumper and bottom of sliding door.

Total price is 16,000€ for a Jan 2018 vehicle with windup windows !!

Pictures attached for your thoughts.

At this rate I may start looking at a TDI which may actually return better mpg !

Wind-up windows! Pretty sure UK spec T6's all had electric windows and heated electric mirrors, looking at the basic head unit I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of a special order for a large fleet.

oh shoot totally forgot about the heated electric mirrors.
Part of a fleet. Yes that makes sense. Probably an ex parcel delivery vehicle ?

Certainly an organisation who don't think much of their driver's comfort and convenience! I know it's a bit of a first workd problem but ask yourself if you would miss the feature which we have all become accustomed to?
