I have recently collected this model T32 SWB Transporter 2018 from the dealership and I would love to connect with anyone on this T6 Forum who has this van Spec or anyone who can assist me with answering a few questions that I have asked with help regarding T6 204 2.0 TDI 4Motion and issues I am having with the fuel pump hissing and fuel tanks sloshing fuel from the front to the back of the van creating a loud swooshing and glugging sound, just like a washing machine... I have had 10 perfect days with this van driving like a Dream and so I have had the pleasure and short moment of experiencing the full potential of this vans Spec along with the super 4Motion driving performance, please can anyone help with replying and advising Me....

I also have the same spec and have owned it for 3 weeks.

Only noticed the sloshing fuel in the past week at around 3/4 full. Cant say I have noticed any hissing of the fuel pump. Interested to hear if anyone else has sloshing fuel or this because of where the tank is located under the driver rather than in a car at the rear.

Oh thank you so much for connecting... so you also have this Spec and sloshing fuel.. no hissing.... exactly ... three quarter full Tank... the VW techs say 4Motion have two tanks named saddle tanks and so is this the sloshing and glugging between tanks under drive and passenger by laterally? it sounds terrible like a washing machine! It sounds so loud I felt it was back to front as braking caused a terrible sloshing as van pulls to stop and sounds like coming from back to front? So is it under driver and passenger seats? Are there two saddle tanks? The hissing sound builds up and the fuel gluts loudly as it gets thrown between to tanks and with a glug of gallons transfering between both!
Amazingly I had 10 days driving like a dream before filling to 3 Quarter full... Did you find this when You picked up your van and drove for the first week?.... No hissing sound thank you as this is a 10 day old fault then!

Not sure about the saddle tank story.. true on a Touareg not so sure about the transporter, we have 2 tanks but one is the Adblue tank...

We had sloshing on the Touareg but that was water collecting in the sill and was cured by unblocking the drain plugs.

Thank you for connecting.... the saddle tank story.. hmm laugh... it is a question then does the T32 transporter have one tank split in two/ named as saddle tanks for 4 Motion like the Touareg?
So The Fuel tank swooshing around like a washing machine is one? Or a split tank ? under the driver and passenger areas/ middle of underneath van? Is this normal to make a washing machine slosh a glug? Ad blue tank is separate yes I did not feel this was part of the fuel tank issue of loud swooshing and glugging... do you have a fuel injection pump hissing loudly? Is the hissing pump a fault?

I am new to this T6 Forum and I am learning as I connect and reply , thank you to yourself Loz and Hactus for replying and sharing

Could it be just as simple as Diesel Particle Filter regeneration – which is a regular and normal event. The phenomena has created amazement around the forum more than once. And, indeed it’s quite impressive when engine fans are running at full blast – has been described like jet turbine. But it is noticeable only when stopped. Anyways, it’s the first thing to rule out.

For example in threads Possible engine regen? and Regen without the tornado?

Another source of natural strange noise is aux/parking heater but it activates only at temperatures below +5C. But, it’s hardly noticeable – it’s quiet.

I’m pretty confident that there is only one fuel tank in the van (SWB/LWB or 4motion are no different) – on the left at about middle between front and rear wheels.

The confusing part is that you mentioned in your other post that VW assist had a look on your van. They should know…

Thank you for connecting...
Originally I posted this query yesterday with the fuel tank sloshing and glugging with this being on the left/passenger side that was sounding like a washing machine when it has glugging sounds and water filled drum sloshing around under fuel caps section, it seemed to me that it was going from back to front however thankfully from all the help and replies this is appearing to be the middle left/passenger side.... the split tank/ saddle story is seeming just that... a story...
The hissing is really loud and is coming from just below the fuel caps/fuel intake section, just under the left side and is this the fuel pump hissing and building up with hissing when fuel is sloshing around terribly, turning left turning right uphill and downhill is crazy fuel sloshing... have never experienced this is 2015/16/17 models although they were not 4 Motion... the noises fan engine part I have experienced in the past when I have hired Transporters and this is not the noise I am hearing here.... All the hissing is just underneath the fuel caps fuel intake and goes to just under behind left passenger seat area then the crazy loud sloshing of fuel sounds like it is going back and forth as there is a crazy full load of gallons of fuel slapping and hitting the tank metal internally!
Yes I agree... VW Assist said they had never heard or had come across this problem before and said to go back to the VW dealership and the VW dealership have never worked with a VW Transporter of this Spec and 4 Motion and they think All is normal as no ECU electrical fault registering,,,,, ! I find this all quiet ridiculous... VW Manufacture a Van with this high spec and a VW Uk dealership sells this Spec of a van.... and then 10 days later with these problems being brought to their attention can not Diagnose and have never worked with a T32 Transporter 4Motion... VW Tech at dealership said no one has a van like this in the UK....
What a load of... You have to Laugh... Thank you to T6 Forum and the owners of 2018 T32 4 Motion’s at this spec connecting and replying with Me and sharing with all your experiences and knowledge has helped so much... and proved a lot with regards to the rubbish I am being told at present by VW technical/VW dealership!
