Hi all Electricians , I usually spend all my time on here helping members with Suspension kits , issues and advise ,
BUT today i need help
I have a T 28 2019 model it had a little bump at the front and the wiring harness was pulled from the radar sensor . it has 4 wires . I have purchased a repair kit but it came with 5 individual yellow wires and no idea where to put them . Can any one assist ??

Many thanks Steve @ CRS

Did the original wires get severed ?
Are you extending them back to the connector and need the pinouts ?

I will start looking up the wiring diagram for you

Looks like four cables into an 8 pin connector, a power pair and a canbus pair
1 - brown = negative
8 - red/black = positive
2 - green/yellow = can high
3 - white/yellow = can low

The four cables run from the radar connector to another 8 pin plug down by the horn so it may be possible to just replace the complete loom (assuming the no more cables in the far connector)

Hi there Pauly

Cheers for replying yes the wires completely pulled out of the pin inside the plug so I cant see what colour goes where sadly , The repair kit comes with 5 yellow wires so that didn't help at all . it is an 8 pin plug but only 4 wires going in there ,

The wires you mentioned are in deed that colour so I should be able to come right now So grateful to you !!!

Will the radar sensor need recalibrating I have a new mounting bracket both plastic and the metal frame ones ??

Here's some more background info...

.

I think the pc answer is yes it should be re-calibrated if the mounting/position has been disturbed
Will it work without calibration ? Yes it should do

Many thanks Guys the radar sensor is connected and faults cleared , ill test drive once the front id back on and i can drive safely

Cheers
steve

Hi all, my front grill has the Radar sensor in it, everything seems to be there behind the square plastic cover but I don't actually know if I have the operating end in the cab, my vehicle is a 2018 Danbury campervan. Can anyone advise what I should be looking for in the cab/dash?.

If you have ACC your steering wheel buttons will look like this. If not you have City Braking only

Thank you for your replies, it appears I have city braking only then. Not sure what that means though! I guess I'm an old something or other as I don't tailgate or drive any closer than I can stop easily, still it's good to know what the box is all about. Thank you all. Love the site.

Hi All, not what you wanted to hear but I’ve smacked mine off too. 2018 van. The vans got no idea it’s now positioned in the glove box and as I had the radiator changed by a 3rd party, they’ve voided any warranty (bunch of c***s) but I’m considering weather to tape the wires up and replace the grill without the hole in it, or, can I get replacement brackets around the sensor, which with some soldering may still work, or, as there’s no faults on the dash and the frickin thing didn’t stop me hitting anything in the 1st place, who cares if it works or not. Yes, it is beer o clock My question being, did you get new plastic trim and metal etc for the sensor? And where from? Ps, I’m an electrician but not auto, that’s a different animal all together!

There is a repair kit from VW its a length of yellow wire with the correct terminal on it , you can buy the mounts for it as a repair kit as well and the plug if its damaged .
