Swissvans delivery

Guys,

Who here has bought from swissvans?

Just wondering how your van was delivered?

I spoke to someone before who said theirs was driven from south wales to Edinburgh.

Is it just me that doesn't fancy someone else doing the first 500 miles in their new van for them before they get it?

Will try and get a hold of them closer to the time and maybe arrange flying down to collect it but just wanted to see how others had theirs delivered first.

Cheers, Chris

This is what an email I received today said;

Please note that vehicles are driven directly to your door or place of work. The delivery mileage on average is around 300 miles, but this can vary depending on your location. If your Lease Agreement has a mileage allowance, the delivery mileage recorded on the delivery note when you receive your vehicle will not be taken out of your mileage allowance as agreed in your contact.

I was hoping for under 20 miles lol

I did, they deliver via a VW dealer not direct from their offices. Mine turned up on time and to my door. 125 miles on the clock, handed over professionally, all the checks made and everything talked through, not rushed and no pressure to sign the paperwork until I was happy. Personally I found and as I'm busy, it was a good experience.

They have mine for a couple of weeks doing upgrades after delivery so I'd imagine it's coming from them.

If it was 100 miles I don't think I'd mind the same.

Am I being silly? Just never had new before so didn't really want it being closer to the 1k than 0 by the time I drove it

They don't do a lot on site, wheels etc were fitted by the VW dealer who was also in contact with me. Either way miles wise if you drive it or someone else did it'll have mileage on it.

Not sure about bumpers but seats are not done in house. Company in the midlands sort those. Who are you dealing with there?

Dean.

I'll have to drop him a message through the week.

They're doing the carpet lining, leather, quite a lot of external stuff too.
Will be interesting to know where it all gets done as the impression you get going through their Facebook is they do it all on site.

What have you ordered? You are having it insulated to right?

I wouldn't want it to be driven either; having had two cars delivered in the past.

I had to fly to Manchester then get a lift to Preston for our last Cali. Our current two vehicles bought new were much closer.

Whilst I would love it to have as few miles as possible, it will have thousands within weeks so not to fussed.

Hi Chris, you are not silly at all, i felt exactly the same. Mine came from Swissvans and had some minor mods done before shipping but i didnt want someone else driving my brand new van almost 400 miles to me, so i arranged to have it delivered on a trailer by another company so it arrived with about 7 miles on the clock

Was this done at your own cost?

For us the time isn't an issue and flights from Edinburgh you Cardiff are under £50.
Thinking I might enjoy the drive at around £150 including food and red bull

I did think 300 was excessive I have to admit. Its not even 300 miles from where dealership is lol

I'm guessing 128 miles on mine

You'd think they would whack it on a transporter (you get what I mean lol)

I'm looking forward to having an average MPG over the life of ME driving the van.

Wish I'd thought of that before purchasing. Will be a mini adventure driving it back, I probably would have done it if I'd had the time.

I didn't ask when ordering, I spec'd just about everything else.

I was going to send it somewhere else in the spring to line it and do a few other things including a heater and a leasure battery but decided I can live without those for a bit longer and just get Swiss to do the lining before i get it for convenience.

As the finances were all agreed in April it's just a cash tag on to the order but I'm happy with that.
