Strange Sound

Hi guys,

I have recently noticed when i shut off my engine there is a strange noise which sounds like a valve opening and closeing like 4 or 5 times then it stops ? Any ideas ? It was suggested that the ERG Valve does a clewning cycle when the engine is shut off? No idea ?

It sounds like when your central.locking is already locked and you try the key again. Like a short sharp whine but this is from 5he engine bay

Havent noticed it on my transporter but my work transit does this everytime you turn the engine off, its like a tick tock tick tock repeat noise that is the EGR valve opening/closing to keep the movement area clear

Hi i spoke to a mechanic as i passed on my way ti tge shop. Didnt have the van with me but he said its the EGR clearing itself and should do it everytime. I have the 2.0 tdi 102. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed or have simular if so then its cool if no one else has it then im sure its not normal.
