Startline alarm?

Hello, new here and have spent far too long investigating something that is probably obvious! Looked at other topics that infer I might have an alarm.
I just picked up my new T6 camper yesterday, but find the manual more confusing than helpful, as with a startline model Transporter model, a 20 page booklet would probably have covered it.

I have the b pillar button that is used to deactivate the internal alarm sensor, so, does this mean I have an alarm? Van is 13 months old, ex hire van before conversion, so don't know if this was an extra fitted when new.. I also get Safe Lock Check on turning off ignition too, which might be another clue, if I've understood the manual.

Don't want to upset neighbours by doing a functional test, if it is alarmed, either.

Yes

I think the Startline came with an immobiliser but no alarm but, as above, presence of B pillar button suggests an alarm as well - guess it was added as an extra??

Either way, I'd still be looking at some additional security, e.g. Tracker, mechanical immobiliser, etc.

Enjoy your new camper - happy and exciting times ahead!!

We plan to get more security, but there is so much to buy for one of these vans, it will be a bit later. I'll contact my insurers, as it was insured without immobilser or alarm, as I couldn't say what was fitted, when I arranged it, prior to collection.

I assume it lights up when you press it? (With the drivers door open) and your indicators flash when you lock it with the remote?

Yes to both, but had to pop out to check the switch, which goes between Amber and red when pushed.

Then your all good.

... now did you happen to notice if the locks made a double clunk when you locked it...? :)
