Specialist to retrofit ACC to a T6

I debated making such a post but never quite had the words
‘X’ firmware/datasets are not vehicle specific and I thought just for experimental/testing purposes unless some of the people offering this solution can clarify further ??

Makes perfect sense, and those considering this back door “upgrade” should do so with full knowledge.
god forbid someone died in a road accident, if, after inspection of the vehicle, it was found the vehicle safety systems had been “adapted” away from factory setting (type approval) there would be potential massive repercussions. I.e. you would probably go to jail.

Personally, I dont see the need for ACC anyway when you can use your foot for free. Just saying.
Safety improvement is a priority and ongoing technological development serves its purpose.
I wouldn't be surprised if some day ACC becomes mandatory.

X firmware is a developer version, it is used during development and testing stage ahead of its first official release.

For example 7N0 Bosch MRRevo14F radar had the following firmwares released:
X055
B062
0110
0210
0211

Only last 3 have been officially released but probably there is no driver who would notice any difference in the ACC behaviour between all the versions mentioned above.

Looks like this isn’t happening then which is a shame.

I have a T6 with front assist so thought it might be a more straight forward job than it looks like.

If you have standard Cruise Control via MFSW then you just need to do the following.

1. Replace your current buttons with one of these:
7E0959442A (support DSG paddle shift)
or
6C0959442B (don't support DSG paddle shift)

2. Exchange your radar for another one (with correct SWAP code already uploaded).

3. Adjust your ECU & ABS coding (VCDS, OBD11, VCP, etc.)

4. Enjoy ACC

Thank you. I have 1,2 & 4 covered.

Can anyone help with me with number 3? Where can I buy / exchange the radar?

£4000 plus VAT for DSG vans!!! It doesn't say whether that is the price for vans with no radar or mfsw tho'. Does anyone know what is involved if you already have a radar and mfsw?
I have a new T6.1 dsg Sportline and my ACC hasn’t worked for 6 months! Too busy to get it looked at my main dealer. That’s why i bought a VW because they never go wrong :fast rofl:

Mine was done years ago, as stated in a previous comment. It still works fine as does brake assist and city braking. I use it frequently, especially in traffic, and think it is one of the most useful mods that has been done to my van.
My van is a T32 auto panel van (TSI) and the ABS pump was not changed, just the radar (but I kept the old one).

@Punkvw im not far away from you (sudbury, suffolk) i have neary completed my t6.1 facelift. i have the standard cruise control currently, i have a new steering wheel and the correct buttons to install. i was going to swap over the wheels and put up with the error it produces for the time being (not sure if stuff will get disabled). with all the hardware swapped out, and assuming the front sensor is the correct one (have been told it is) what is the cost and time scale for you to just activate and get working.

easy job to do. I can patch the radar by post too if you can do the rest yourself
How do you mean by post, an exchange unit? Don't want to keep removing the bumper it's a pain in the a**e the T6.1 assembly lol. What a about a remote teamviewer session or something with it plugged into the van via obd.

There is obd options if you have the right tool, but best is the direct to radar method

I can send you an exchange radar so only need to take it off once if that helps?

Yeh that could be an option. Then I just need to vcds the other settings. What sort of cost would that be please.

Unfortunately @Punkvw has been offline since 15th November (hope they ok)?! anyway, as such I'm looking for someone around my area (Essex/Suffolk) that has the ability to reflash my front sensor to ACC. If I had the files and hardware I could do it myself since I've done programming in the past, but its a load of additional hardware and learning time I'm not sure i want to invest in at this moment as i have too much going on as it is, especially as getting married this year.

Sorry I’ve missed this. I will send you my mobile number now
