Speaker issue. RANDOM.

Hi guys. This has me baffled. When I installed a new head unit maybe 6 months ago my drivers speaker failed shortly after making only a tiny tinny sound. I then replaced the speaker for new pioneer aftermarket speaker. This made no difference and I have the exact same sound output. so I assumed wiring or head unit to fault. I have now installed a brand new head unit and also rewired the said speaker and it is still exactly the same very very quiet sound???? How is this possible as I now have a new head unit New wiring and a new speaker? Baffled.

Just a consideration the new speaker is a 4ohm 30 watt rms 300watt peak. Is it possible this standard head unit will not drive the speaker? I’ve thrown my original out as I thought it had failed? Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

Did you just replace the one speaker, what headunit do you have ? Got any pics of the install ?

I replaced the original speaker for a kenwood one that says is suitable for van. I had a random head unit originally and swapped for a rcd310 but now have fitted a rcd330 which I love! But to answer your question yes I’ve only swapped the drivers speaker which sounds like just a tweeter and the original works great.
