Spare Wheel Carrier won’t close.

Looking for some advice....

Just fitted a rib bed with the clear cut conversions fitting kit. The strengthening frame sits directly underneath the spare wheel carrier..

The instructions say drop the carrier to the lower postition which I have done. The carrier still wont close..

I've seen somewhere that you can get extended bolts and plastic spacers? Anyone know where from or is it a dealer only part?

Cheers

Had the exact same problem, i just got a bit of plate steel, drilled holes to match the original hanger hole sizes and bolted it on higher, thus lowering the bracket. works fine. ill see if i can take a photo.

My T6 Transporter has a rib bed fitted which is secured by a long bar underneath. I have a 235/55r17 spare wheel. When the spare wheel carrier is in the lowest position it has a space of 200mm to the rib bed bar. Does anyone know how I could lower the bracket further ? I need atleast 35mm

If its not chucking it down tomorrow ill get under the van a take a photo, I think it was 3mm, but I'll check

i had to lower it by a bit more, bit of trial and error. i've taken one picture, but its been thunder storms and rain all day, ill get you some better ones when it clears. its still quite a tight fit, so there was no rattles.

Thank you mark, that's much appreciated. I've also put threads on the retaining pin which has worked very well. I've just fit the wheel and tried everything.
I'm Just waiting for the paint to dry and for it to stop raining before final fit.

We recently did the NC 500 and got a puncture which which was a tear on the side of the tyre.
We had to be recovered to tongue and the garage couldn't get the same tyre so we ended up buying one to get us to another garage 70 miles away who had our tyre.
A bit of a chew on but we only lost a day.
It could have been much worse.
We're very happy to have a spare now.
Thanks again for all your help.

One more question, how tight do you tighten the bolts.I've managed to tighten them right up with no thread remaining. However the bracket has slightly compressed the tyre.
