Smoking light??

Afternoon all - Any ideas why my 12v light started smoking? I'm assuming faulty fitting? Got 1 either side of the van. Thankfully I was in the back of the van just about to put the rock and roll bed away and then the light flickered randomly and started smoking pretty badly, the positive has melted off the back of the fitting.

I think you were lucky to spot the problem when you did - could have ended badly.
I'd get rid of the other one too.

Just noticed it was on a 10amp, probably a bit high for 2 x lights with built in usb chargers, do you think?

I think you were lucky to spot the problem when you did - could have ended badly.
I'd get rid of the other one too.

I agree, what a nightmare that could of been. Just been out to remove the other one, contemplated doing it early but didn't, you've twisted my arm haha

Don't know really, try a 3 amp, that's probably plenty, 10 is way too high.
