Small Fleet Policy

Doe anyone on the forum have their van/ camper insured under a Small Fleet Policy (SFP)?

I'm still awaiting delivery of my factory-build van (which will then go straight for a full camper conversion), but when I finally get my hands on it, we'll have the camper, 2 cars and a motorbike - and there'll only be me & the wife driving/riding these 4 vehicles.

As I understand it, a SFP can work out cheaper than individual policies when the number of vehicles in the "fleet" exceeds the number of authorised drivers (basically, not all the vehicles can be on the road at the same time, thereby reducing exposure to Accidental Damage claims).

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of SFPs and particularly whether it's possible to mix vehicle types (van, car & bike) on the same policy and whether it's possible to specify an Agree Value for the camper.

TIA

I tried to get the T6 on my multi-car policy, which includes a couple of classics and sports cars, unfortunately it's classed as a commercial so can't be added.
The only way to find out is to ring around the specialist insurers.

Appreciate your input @sparkywig

As I understand it, multi-car policies and SFPs are very different beasts with distinct differences, but the question of mixing private/commercial vehicles is still highly relevant for me.

No experience of an SFP specifically, but we have the van and two other cars between the two of us on one policy with LV. It’s pretty reasonable; renewed it again today and not been able to get another quote even close to it

Thanks @Village

Do all your vehicles have the same renewal date? And how does the NCB work? Does each vehicle have its own NCB, or is the NCB shared (somehow ) across the vehicles?

TIA

They all have the same renewal date and they all have their own NCB. We brought two NCBs into the policy, which were at the max 9 years, and they gifted the same onto the third car
