For our 1200 wide RIB bed, that's next to our kitchen & storage cupboards, we originally bought 2 x single sleeping bags and zipped them together to make a big double. Problem was, the side zip kept catching / rubbing on the cupboard fronts, We were worried over time, this would mark them, so we bought a quilt and now use that instead. It also means we can stick our legs & arms out if we need to, whereas in the sleeping bag, we couldn't.
Quilts for us, found the sleeping bag thing too restrictive, too hot and generally just a bit of a pain, so two single quilts for us seems to work well.
Quilt, like most noobs the sleeping bag seemed a great idea... rip stop nylon means the bag is self unloading though and you're constantly pulling the thing back up from waist height with the other half asking if you keep waking her up on purpose?
The other feature is how claustrophobic these things are when they've given up migrating downwards or you've zipped it up with just the nostrils poking out.
