Shuttle why not?

Why don't people buy these instead of Kombi's?

On autotrader brand new t6.1 shuttles are around £26k inc vat I know I just bought one....so much cheaper than a kombi.

You have to add wheels, tint the windows, side bars etc but most of us do that to the kombi anyway. But it's a 6.1 newer engine, twin sliders, two captains seat as standard so not terrible.

Camper King have done the above and selling for £40k so a nice profit.

It makes no sense to me either.
However, a T6.1 brand new shuttle for 26k inc is going to be fairly low spec i would imagine.

I think it’s cause it’s not the go to van to convert, but not everyone wants to convert

I’m on the look out for one, I’ve got time on my side this time, some nice examples about but I’m after a particular engine and spec.

They are just on autotrader, I bought mine from vw dartford. There's one on now for 25,888 but LWB and I wanted SWB. Also some on vw used vans, loads about all pre reg obviously, so you just get the standard spec.

But the shuttle spec is different to Kombi's so you get some better stuff captains seats, two sliders, air con, but not heated windscreens so some not so good.

I sold my three old Kombi for the same price as this new, so seemed ok to me.

We got lucky with our kombi so the shuttle spec has to be equal or higher. Didn’t know about the lack of heated screen though

Im on my second, its a family vehicle and not a camper and for me its ideal. As said the spec tends to be more car like and you get proper aircon etc. I didnt purposely buy one as my first but I definitely did for the second one. Just take out rear seats and you have a big MPV, we run ours as a 5 seater all the time. If your not going camper and its not a work van then they are ideal IMO. Very versatile and flexible.
