Show me your Kombi with a slide-out kitchen!

I’m trying to convince the family that a fully built camper isn’t the way forward and instead to have a kombi with pop top and seating/ pull out kitchen in the rear.

Does anyone have this kind of setup? If so please upload pics so I can convince them it will work

Never actually wanted to sleep in my vans but they’ve both been Kombis and the last one I tried a couple of different layouts over the years…

If you want a Kombi with a pop top to sleep in then you’ll find the second row seats make it hard to move around inside and also will make accessing the upstairs bed difficult too - maybe having the bench seat in the 3rd row like I did in the pic above will mean you can still get into the pop top.

In my latest van I am actually going with version 1 above which fits our use of the van the best.

You‘ll probably find most people with Kombi vans have some form of structure in the back that makes a bed when the Kombi seats are folded flat.

Very nice. I like the idea of a table in the front which can then be used in the rear as well.

I have Thought about a full width rock n roll so you can ‘live’ in the middle but it then limits space in the rear.

Starting to really like white vans with a more rugged look. Black plastic bumpers and big swampers!!!
Definitely needs some black wheels fitted. But again another area to research 19s or 20s. Can I fit larger without changing suspension etc etc etc

We’re thinking about getting our devonports painted black - I’m not a fan of the silver on the white van. I’ve removed all the other silver, grill trim and badges. You might to check out @CRS Performance and the many reviews on the forum before you decide you’ll not upgrade your suspension. It was the first thing we did. We were going towards full conversion but we’ve changed tack completely and we’re going for a Ply Guys install with their Torridon and Clachan units and a custom extension to give us a full length bed when the Kombi seats are out. The Ply Guys Torridon

Would love to see this once it’s installed.
You definitely will! There will be lots of photos, or come to the forum event autumn gathering. I plan to be there fresh from having it installed.

This was taken during my build I’ll get some shots of it as it is now.
It’s a LWB Kombi the unit under the window pops out in a few minutes and 3x1 seats can fit leaving the kitchen units in situ.
2+1 seats fit with it as it’s shown.
The bed/settee is on the LHS and folds out longitudinally!
Also bikes fit In utilising seat brackets and it all comes out in about 20min to make a goods van!
