Seat Trim - Rusty Lee swivel

Hi All!
Yesterday I installed a Rusty Lee swivel base for the passenger seat on my T6. It’s a T32, DSG, Highline, Kombi. The process was fairly straightforward and, I am really pleased with it. My questions are.
Has anyone doctored the seat trim to make it fit?
Do I really need the handbrake lowering kit for the drivers side? I have been told if I take the hand break off, pump the seat up to its maximum the seat will pass over the handbrake. Is this so?

I purchased the swivel base from Transporter HQ, excellent service and quick delivery. It’s a good quality bit of kit, and very easy to fit.
There is a video on YouTube showing how to fit it and, what tools are required. I took me about forty five minutes.
