Seat covers - arrrghhh!!

Well over a YEAR after the T6 Cali came out, still no VW seat covers (except the stupid ones that aren't anything-proof).
Our last Cali had a full set of covers for £145 - waterproof, worked. Not the most exciting to look at but they worked.
But both Inka AND VW haven't come up with anything yet.
I tried Seatskinz and wasted a fairly large chunk of my life.

Will ANYONE do well fitted seats covers that resist general muck, water and grime without re-tailoring the entire van?!

Yes, it's frustrating....

The forum shop ones are standard VW seat covers for vans and kombis
Unfortunately californias and caravelles have different (fatter) headrests that the standard covers dont fit !

what was the problem with Seatskins? I seen that you had problems with the headrests were there rest of the covers ok, I was thinking of picking some up from them for my kombi

They took nine weeks to make, the stitching was the wrong colour, they looked very "taxi" they were made for a T5 not a T6 despite me being very clear (the headrests and bases were too loose) removing the armrests needs a rather specialist tool that they totally failed to mention. Hours and hours wasted and I've totally rounded off an armrest bolt so can't remove it again.

A possibility if you can get them to fit them but otherwise, never again.

Hi. There is a company called auto leathers.Co.uk and they do seat covers that are so good they fooled everyone getting in my old t5.1 to thinking they were really leather. Mega impressed by the quality, with many different colours and designs. I'm going for the diamond Bentley stitch this time with orange stitching and black as the main colour. Very cheap too, £180 for two front seats and a 2+1 in the back

i was under the impression that the reason they hadn't had VW factory seat covers was the airbags in the front seats

What happens if the airbag activate on a seat cover that doesn't allow it to expand?

i'll have to go down to the dealership and ask again, as i was told that VW hadn't released a airbag compatible seat cover yet, when i placed my order.
