Seat belt warning light & chime - new 6.1

Hi all I have just bought a 74 plate 6.1 panel van from VW. 2+1 upfront. Only had it a week & one issue is that the seat belt warning light & chime continually go off. When I am alone & no passengers there is no issue – all is good. Whenever anyone is in the passenger seat it goes off in all of the following combinations – 1 child in 1 seat (belted in), 1 adult in 1 seat (belted in) & 2 kids (belted in). Where there is a spare seat I have tried belting that belt in but the chime & light still go off. Anyone have any idea what this may be? I am guessing a sensor issue. I can obviously take back to VW but a 2hr drive so just wanted to check on here if anyone has experienced this? Thanks

I looked at this recently due to wanting to disconnect all 4 connectors under the seat for a swivel base.
It seems the arm goes off when there is a closed circuit on the system. The 4 connectors are in the double seat base, towards the middle at the bottom.
You could disconnect each connector and put a multimeter in them in turn to isolate the issue.

As far as I can tell, you only need the rhs of the below diagram.

Thanks a lot. Am about to get a swivel base put in actually as part of a conversion. I can get them to look at it too. I'm a bit loathe to waste a day at VW tbh albeit it is incredibly annoying when driving.
