As the title really.

the Manual says to fuse the leisure battery to 20amp on the supply to the unit..... seems very low and couldn't easily draw more than that.
Saying that the fridge is going to be on selected line. So will just be 12v usb and lights?

I could be wrong. I've installed a few of these units. I believe the idea is that because the leisure battery is connected to the sargent unit this monitors and charges the leisure battery and can manage the current drawn from the main battery. I could be wrong as you've not stated which model it is so I can't look up any wiring diagrams. It's always best to go and fit as per manufacturer instructions where fusing is concerned or speak with their technical department

It's the EC155.
What sort of cable did you run from the battery to the unit. I was going to go for 12awg.... think that's 3mm. Heard people using larger core but if line is fused to 20amp then this should be more than enough?

You've got to take into account the voltage drop over the length of the run as DC voltage drops far quicker than AC. I ran 16mm iirc as I sized the cable to the size of the battery eg 110Ah it wasn't till i read the instructions i saw about the 20Amps but I'd still do the same again better to have a cable to big than not big enough for any future plans

I have the same system. If you check the wiring diagrams, there are two supply wires from battery going to the connection 8-9 on Sargent unit. Both fed from the 20A fuse. I think in reality, you would be using some serious current draw with all your consumers on at once to blow a 20A fuse.

evening all. did you get to the bottom of the fuse issue? I have the EC155 and the 20 Amp fuse keeps blowing, mostly when driving. All the cables and connections have been checked and are all fine, nothing has been plugged in to cause the draw down so im confused.

Post a few pics of your install ..

Both baterrys and the unit, we'll see if anything stands out.

I always use 6mm for 12v power outlets rated 15-20A
