Rust behind sliding-door panel!

Thought I would clean the van today and very disappointed to find rust spots under the sliding door roller cover trim ! Anyone else had this problem ? Van is a 2016 ! Cheers

I'm not even going to look at mine, I will say that the paint on my 5 year old T6 is very poor, of all the many cars I've owned I've never had such poor paint on a 5 year old vehicle.

There was none on my 65 plate T6 when I had the cover off a few months ago.

From memory, some sliding doors drop and end up rubbing, hence this... Do a quick search on here for the fix

Two bolts behind rear near side door / Tailgate and then pull clips to remove.
You’ll likely need to replace the clips, particularly now it’s cold and the plastic will be brittle.

Open the rear door and tailgate. You should see some bolts. Remove these and then the slider cover pops/pulls off.

Bolt also at the front of the panel, have to open the slider to access it.

Oh and buy some of those new clips as they will break.

I remember reading that water can penetrate the body past the retaining clips.
Is anybody surprised? Get the silicone sealant out when re-fitting I guess.
