Rns 510 wiring question?

Hi guys
Is there a way to stop the radio cutting out when the auto stop start cuts in ? I did read somewhere that a capacitor was fitted to keep the power on for a second or so but not sure what head unit it was. This is where I show my age !! I know that there is a permanent live to the unit but switch live from the ignition ??? Where does it get its signal to turn on and can a capacitor be placed inline to stop it cutting out ? I do have a new battery on the van .

Hi Dell thanks for the reply, the van is a 2018 t30 150 DSG start line. I have made some modifications myself, MFSW, CCS, the head unit is a RNS510 obviously that isn the original unit either.

Hi Samfisher. After I fitted a vibe micro amp to my t6 I had issues with the sound popping and cutting out on restart during a stop/start cycle.
This was cured when the original Moll branded starter battery was replaced under warranty by VW. I think there were lots of failed Moll batteries.

Not something I've come across before. Not seen any T6s with an RNS510 in as these are an old unit and iirc not something VW supplied in a T6 from factory.

Hi Dav-Tec it seemed like a good idea at the time but no dab and maps that don’t know where the roads go anymore!!! I wanted a VW unit as I thought it would work better with the van but it might be on its way out !!!! Thanks for the reply

I'm sure I had a rns510 in my T5.1 at one point?

Definitely a CAN BUS radio setup as I needed a CAN emulator when I fitted a Kenwood satnav.

@Dellmassive I'm sure T5.1 came with 510 as an option but moved to the MIB 2 platform on the T6. This could be part for the problem I suppose.

Thanks Dav-Tec the van dis come with a DAB unit in it but the Bluetooth wasn’t very good with my phone, and it didn’t have sat nav so I changed it. I will probably just go back to the original head unit for now and try the Bluetooth module that came with the RNS 510 and see if that works better
