Reverse alarm

Anyone fitted a reverse alarm to their van?
If so, how did you wire it up?

I'm thinking of fitting one inside the rear bumper for some protection from the elements and my initial thought was to wire it up to the reverse light same as I've done with the reverse cam but there dosn't seem to be an easy or tidy route out of the light cluster down to the bumper but then I thought about the reverse sensors already inside the bumper.

Does anyone know if they're 12v, live only when activated and how/if that wiring is routed back inside the van?

When I installed my Towbar I found a route down from the connector inside the passenger side rear quarter down to the towbar plug. If you work out which is the wire on that connector is for the reversing lights, that might be your best option ?

Think the reverse sensors are live all the time, even if they are not im not sure thats a good approach ??

There are grommets in the bottom of the rear quarter panels that exit under the van, if you follow the reverse sensor wiring loom it will take you too one
I think theres more than one IIRC so you may have an empty grommet you can utilise ?

Thanks for all the responses so far guys.
Splicing into the reverse wire and down through those grommets is probably the best plan of attack then.
I'll remove that rear under tray when I'm fitting the new side bars to have a look. Hoping I can get access without removing the whole bumper. 🤞

The other option is to splice into the reversing camera wiring, but would still need to trace the correct wire and run the wiring down to under the bumper.
