Rev counter not working, any suggestions?

Hi all,

Had my t6 a month or so and bought from approved used so still under warranty but hoping for a simple solution before having to book it in at vw.

The rev counter doesn't move when firing the engine up or driving. It did move a bit yesterday coming home from work but it seemed about 1000 rpm wrong. When idle it was close to 0 and when ready to change gear it was about 1000 rpm instead of 2000 rpm.

Has anyone experienced this and know of a solution?

Use VCDS or similar and perform Instrument Cluster output test.

Cheers ill try and source one, got an cheap obd reader somewhere but I doubt that'll tell me anything,
