Retrofit auto lights and wipers

Just to conclude on this I picked up a sensor and light switch from a passat from a local breakers.
There are only 3 wires to connect and only 1 additional wire to run as the other 2 wires can be picked up at the interior light.
  1. I ran a power from the fuse box (Sc53 is the oem fuse for rain sensor) to the sensor
  2. ground wire connected to a screw above the interior light switch.
  3. The bcm pin 24 wire(purple/yellow) runs to the sensor beside the interior light switch so I was able to splice into that.
Instead of buying repair wires for adding the wiring to the fuse box I took the fuse box from a mk4 golf along with 1ft of loom and then depinned the fuse box to give me lots of repair wires. The golf has a loom running along the passenger side sill which gave me ~20 wires of varying thickness and 8ft long and I used one of these to connect from the fuse box to the sensor.

I have an aftermarket reversing camera mirror fitted which complicated things slightly but I managed to run the mirror wire in the sensor trim pieces. The trim pieces fit without the need to modify them. As the sensor is not in the oem location I did trim an indent(same as oem indent) into the headliner to prevent the wires from getting damaged. You can see the oem indent in the 2nd photo.

Sorry to resurrect a really old thread, but did you get the auto wipers working with this too - or just the lights? I am thinking of giving this a try.
Also how did you attach the sensor to the screen? Thanks.
