Retro fitted air conditioning problem's (help!)

Hi all

Quick introduction to my problems,
I had air conditioning fitted to my 2018 T6 Startline by Alpine Air nearly 11 months ago. Since then it's never actually got cold apart from the occasional day.
I'm approximately 4 hours away from them so after multiple telephone conversations late last year, they arranged for a local specialist to visit me to make sure that there were no leaks. They found a small leak, sorted it, topped it up and it worked for a day.

As its now warming up again I decided to get it sorted finally. I visited a local auto electrician who said that the heater control unit was damaged (a gear on the hot/cold broken so the dial wasnt able to go fully to cold) and one of the cables had snapped off the bracket on the back).
I decided to drive down to AlpineAir two weeks ago and they fitted a new heater control at a cost of £430.00 which I thought was steep as the part is about £160.

I tested it before I left but it didn't get cold. They told me that was because it was only 14 degrees Celsius outside and it would be absolutely fine and cold when I need to use it in warmer weather which I questioned but was reassured about several times.

Well you guessed it, it's never been properly cold since. In fact it's only a couple of degrees colder with it on than when it's turned off. I struggle to tell the difference when i have my hand to the vent.

So now I'm really stuck with what to do, I'm sick of dealing with them but can't think of anything else to try. They said the flaps/vents are opening and closing freely and the compressor clicks on and off when the button is pressed.

Does anyone have any suggestions or alternative specialists that they could recommend? I'm in Warrington (NW).

Thank you
James

Id seek legal advice why should you pay for something that does not work??
I’m not sure there’s a case unless there was a written scope of work / costs and some sort of commissioning acceptance report.
It’s the purchasers word against the service provider without substantial evidence.
Best of luck.
