Replacement Leather Gear Knob

Hi There,

I am trying to source a replacement leather gear knob for a 5 speed 2016 highline but I am having trouble to find a 5 speed gear knob in leather. Most are plastic or 6 speed or say only fit T5 and T5.1.

If somebody could point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.

A six speed one will fit then you just need to replace the 5 speed plastic trim on top (or swap from your old one

Thanks Pauly, I will keep hunting around. Even the six speed leather gear knobs seem to be rare.

I’ve just got one from the local vw dealers parts dept, you can also order the top plastic trim as well.

No worries, was £57 for the leather part with gaiter, and £12 for the 5 speed chrome and black numbered top. Mine was all black plastic being a trendline so replaced the top as well. Wanted it to look nicer with the new leather steering wheel...

You don’t happen to have the part numbers required for the upgrade from the trendline plastic by any chance ?
