2016 150 stop start van. I will need to replace my AGM battery as it is 5 years and not holding charge. If I replace it with the same make and spec will I need to recode the van or will it work without recoding the van ??

Short answer, yes.
Even if you replace it with an identical battery the van needs to know that the battery is a new one.

It’ll work, but not charge to full potential, but after a while it’ll settle down as normal I believe.

I used a local independent battery supplier for my new battery, £100 fitted. But they weren’t able to code it correctly, so I took it to my local independent VAG specialist who coded it for £20 in the chip shop fund.

Question? can this recoding be done with Carista - just for my future knowledge incase I have to change mine. Thanks
