Thank you for that, I have recently had a stage 1 remap, would this affect the remap if I had this carried out ?
 
I'm afraid the remap will be swept away.

did you have revo? they usually update the van to the latest software first then map that
 
Further to the above, can anyone tell me other than the VW stealers, who, hopefully in the vicinity of Tamworth can give my T6 the necessary update ? Many thanks.

Hi all, the van went into Listers in Coventry for this fault , they followed the intranet procedure for repair and changed a glowplug, flushed the EGR and changed a couple of hoses and reset the fault. Sure enough the fault came back on shortly after its first " burn ", its booked in again on Monday. I did ask for the engine software update to 6166 as per MMI but they said the software was already up to date and therefore not required. The reluctance to carry out this procedure is that they fear that other things could be affected regarding the running of the engine. I have further requested this update when the Van goes in and also that they check if the Adblue nozzle is clear and the Nox sensor is performing as it should. My questions are...... will an update interfere with running of the engine ? and .... do you reckon theyve actually got the necessary programme for running an update ?

Well, for class N1 vehicle (VIN: WV1....) the software update is not mandatory - which might be the reason for their statement. However, there is an update available (6166) for vehicle's suffering P20EE fault.

No, it just irons out some annoyances.
