Hi,
I have a Renogy DCDC30A. It is supposed to have a 45A fuse between the engine battery’ and the controller only Raines only have a 40 or 50A fuse . I’ve tried to contact renogy several times but no reply. Anyone have an idea a if a 40A fuse will be ok or should I just try to source a different inline fuse from somewhere else so I can get a 45?
Thanks.

what size feed cable? , and how long?

++

the Renogy dc30s will draw 30A max . . .

The fuse is to protect the supply cable.

so if its a 8awg - 4awg a 40A fuse would be ok, for both sides (its still 10A above the 30A charger rating)

or use a 50A input fuse (starter battery) and a 40A output fuse (leisure battery)

Excellent thanks dell. It’ll be 4-6awg I expect as the cable will be running from engine bay to rear offside wheel arch on a LWB VW T6 where everything will reside.
