Removing Front bumper

Hi All,
2016 T6 204 Cali;
A front DRL wasn’t working, In my attempt to replace I seem to have left the bulb within the fitting. The only way I can see to get this out is to remove the head light unit and tip it up to get the bulb to fall out.

To do this I need to remove front end, bumper etc. I am fairly happy I think to remove the bumper, I have seen a couple of ‘How To ‘ videos and it looks straight forward.
I am not sure if I need to do anything with the front fogs, disconnect etc.

Any advice would be a great help, ta.

Have you tried fishing it out with a piece of wire with something sticky on the end like a lump of blu tack or similar?

A lovely idea but the drls are in the most awkward location one could possibly think of. It’s such a confined location. You just can’t see anything from the front or rear. But thank you for your suggestion.

I've had the bumper off my 2016 Highline Kombi a few times for the headlights (H4 to H7 swap) and an intercooler replacement.
The first time, I disconnected the fogs. After that, I just removed the fasteners and carefully supported the bumper up on an old blanket as I only needed access for a moment. I had enough play in the loom.

Was it something you managed on your own?

You can manage this on your own, it’s not as bad as you think, last time I done it I was able to just ‘drop it down’ to access the bolts to the lamps. Also if your problem is the drivers side then I found if you remove the air filter box you have much better access.

Easiest job in the world on the T6.

3 screws in the arch liner, and 1 push fitting in the front of the arch liner.
Then there are push fit clips that hold the corner of the bumpers into the wings, these are easier to be cut with a pair of side cutters, a firm pull outwards releases them from the brackets.
2 screws each side on the under tray.
And then clips that hold the grille In place under the bonnet.
You just then need a firm pull above the crash bar.
Fog light wiring can be unplugged from inside the arch liners before pulling the bumper off.
I then got a selection box of ‘fir tree’ trim clips from Amazon to use for putting the inner wing clips back in as they are much easer to get out should you have to ever do it again.
Takes about 5 minutes when you know what to do.

Thanks guys, I went for it and found it reasonably straightforward following your advice and guidance. Only slight stumbling block was the pulling the front from the three clip fixings at the front. It was solid. It took some scary effort to wrench it off those clips.
As said, now done once I know what’s needed.
Thanks again to all of you so much appreciated.

If you're refitting the same bumper, I wouldn't advise cutting anything. My solution to unclipping the slides was to unscrew the T25 screws buried in the plastic carrier that bolts to the wing (see ref arrows in picture - bumper removed for clarity obviously!).

You can then take the whole bumper off and unclip those plastic fittings and replace back on the van.

This does rely on you having a longish T25 driver and the ability to contort your arm up inside the wing (and move the driver handle 1mm at a time for around 10min).

Thankfully I managed to replace the missing support carrier behind my bumper that someone had deliberately pulled away and snapped (previous owner/garage).
