Removing B Pillars - Top Part Only

Hi there, I've recently retrimmed my A pillars in a black suede and now looking to do just the top parts of the B Pillars - prefer to keep the plastics on the lowers for scuffs etc.

I can see I need to remove the seat belt from the top part but does it require the bottom part to be done as well on both sides? Or does the seatbelt slide out of the top section once undone? Trying to do this without having to remove the seats!

You will beed to undo the seat belt at the bottom of the B pillar.

Damn, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case, hopefully I can get the spline tool in without having to remove the seats
I seem to remember doing it with a hex drive bit using a spanner.

Will have look later on - saw someone mention a 10mm spline - maybe that's just the top though and hex on bottom
Maybe I wasn’t clear, I used a spline bit with a hex’ drive / spanner so it’s shorter than a spline bit and a ratchet.
