Reimo pop top delaminating ? paint bubbling

Old and bald

Black Pearl T6, 2019. Many parts of the roof are covered in small bubbles in the paintwork which started happening after approx one year. Looks as if the paint has detached from the base structure (fibreglass)?...and is ”popping”. The body shop say that they have seen it many times and it is a common problem, they think, with the roof not being cured properly during manufacture. Apparently, the extreme heat that a black roof absorbs causes this to happen and the two body shops I have visited will not guarantee that it won’t happen again after stripping and respraying. They also say that no one now will guarantee a black roof because of this.

Any ideas please, has anyone heard of this before or am I being spun a line.

Perhaps have it painted a colour other than black, or you could considered installing a large solar panel to cover the damn thing up!

We’ve seen this issue before also. Could be anything form moisture/dirty airlines (although a body shop will never admit this), leftover resin from the mould or manufacturing process or preparation prior to painting. SCA have painting guidelines, not sure about REIMO, but this involves much prep to ensure the fibreglass is free of contaminants prior to painting. Using covers on vans can also create problems. It’s a tricky one as there are many possible causes.
