Rear ceiling spot lights

Hi - If I wanted to replace the factory rectangular lights (x 2) with 4 spot lights, is it as simple as disconnecting the -ve battery terminal and then snipping the two wires and then connecting up the new spots in the usual manner then reconnecting battery? That's what I've done but alas, it hasn't worked. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Well I’d say yes as this is what I did (all be it with two spot lights in total - one at each OEM point), so should work.

Not casting dispersions, but did you check the polarity of connections. The van wiring is often not what you’d expect colour coding wise.

As a starter I’d check (with a digital voltmeter) you’ve still got voltage at the outlets and check polarity. Then double check the way your new luminaires should be connected.

Basic fault finding will usually get you there. 👍👍

Have a good read through the famous @Dellmassive "How I done it" threads too. Link here

'lots of info there about all manner of electrical mods, including the rear cabin lights. There could be some useful info there regarding common issues and slight variations in wiring between model years.
