What a pity they couldn't manage to produce proper current flow diagrams to match the standard VW ones.

If you mean that the split charge relay is controlled by the BCM then that is the standard VW method of doing it. Like that the BCM can perform load shedding etc. when other heavy current consumers are present on the engine battery the leisure side charge can be switched off and back on automatically.
