Hi all,

Looking at pulling the pin this weekend and ordering my first ever VW (currently have a Vivaro panel van and a Nissan Qashqai Tekna). My spec so far is the T30 150ps SWB Kombi in Highline trim and a DSG gearbox plus a few optional extras such as powerfold mirrors, heated front seats, swivel front seats, F&R parking sensors with camera and High Beam Assist. Are there any other important options any of you would suggest are essential?

One other question, do they do an option where I can have 3 individual second row seats instead of a bench seat?

Look forwards to hearing your comments and advice.

Cheers all :)

Everyone’s going to say LED head lights if you can afford them.

LED head lights, if you can afford them :D

Power latching is good, saves you having to slam the doors.

Power fold mirrors is questionable - good for the pose factor but not much else.

Welcome to the forum by the way

Yes you can get individual rear seats, as well as triple bench, or a 2+1.

being a person that moved from a 2015 Vivaro to a T6 only 2 months ago, even the most basic T6 is a vast improvement.
I'd agree, if you can afford or compromise somewhere, the LED headlights should be right up there with added spec.
ACC is a mixed opinions. I added it, but don't use it. Twin sliding doors are handy if you don't intended to turn it into a camper. Also think what rear door you want. Vivaro would of been barn door, but tailgate is handy, although does need a lot of space at the rear to open compared to a barn door.

Other than that it's how you want to style it (or not) Obviously VW offer 30mm lowering springs, Sportline splitter, rear spoiler, side bars and pretty much everything else you'd think of, but if like me you had a Vivaro, it's a totally different buying process and a lot more to think about than just 2 models like the Vauxhall. I'd spend a great deal of time and write down your shortlist of spec, and then speak to the sales guy. The price soon racks up!

As a minimum go for the head light upgrade option above standard as the standard are rubbish. Personally ACC is not for me, power latching is a nice upgrade as it saves the slamming effort required, extra front door seals are worth it, comfort dash if it’s available as the standard has loads of badly sized and shaped cubby holes.

Good luck and welcome to the forum,

Be warned though that this is only the beginning of the spending if you read this forum too much.:whistle:;);)

power latching (rear); power slide (side). Didn't know we needed or wanted either; just came as standard on the Vel Exec. Both are really good imo.

Just to point out that the extra door seals that keep getting mentioned are available the forum shop here: 5 metres of additional rubber door seal for front doors

I will add to the above comments and say for what they cost it's well worth adding a set yourself. Even the Vivaro door sounds better than a standard VW door shutting.
If specced on factory order though they come clipped into the doors, i would go with the factory option over aftermarket given the choice

Not sure about £30 i think but the doors come with holes in them that the door seal locates into so the genuine ones cant be retro fitted afterwards

I couldn’t find extra door seals on the configurator when I spec’d my van :(

It often doesn't show on the configurator I think the salesman has to manually find it on the ordering system

As above , i had to request them when i ordered . They where on the extras list but i did not see them on the online ordering extras.

I'm happy with my aftermarket ones and no holes in my doors.
