Problem with 12v socket and DAB radio

I’m intrigued to see if anyone else has had the same issue and if you came up with a solution to fix it?

So when I plug anything into the 12v socket the I loose all radio stations as soon as I take it out the socket they come back again

Any help would be much appreciated!!

As @Pete C said, if your adapter is cheap, it’s likely that -
Very common on cheap Chinese electronics....especially car usb Chargers.

They emit a lot of EMI/RFI. Which interferes with any rf kit and audio kit in your motor.

Just bin it and buy a decent one.

Look out online at the likes of Amazon for brands like ANKER or RavPower

I’m using a belkin adapter so very strange as it’s not a cheap one do you think if I have sockets fretted in the back it would still do the same?

I would try a different brand adapter first - Anker has a good reputation.

All USB car power plugs are not equal. The components within the adapter are giving of harmonic frequency, which can interfere with DAB radio frequencies. Try plugging the devices USB (individually) into a portable battery and therefore no connection to the car/van at all and see if it's still a problem!
Try ferrite cores to the cabling of the USB ports from the Van, this works and might be a cheap fix.
