Priming power steering pump

I'm hoping to get the wagon up and running tomorrow after it's rack replacement! I need to put the new steering pump on and the haynes says before installation, to fill the inlet with fluid and turn pump clockwise by hand until it comes out from the outlet, then offer it up and install.

I'll be honest, I don't know what part is the inlet? I'm guessing the part that has the black cover over?

My understanding is the flexi with jubilee clip is the inlet and and the hard pipe with screwed fitting is the outlet as this side is under pressure.

So yes the pipe with the black cover is the inlet
