Poptop insulation?

Excuse my ignorance, but are poptop roofs insulated when they are installed usually.

No is the straight forward answer but you can buy aftermarket external wraps that add a degree of insulaation. We don't bother in ours and have never had a problem even in very frosty weather!

Thanks TC. I meant the actual roof top. Is it insulated? IE. When it's closed do you have the same level of insulation as the rest of your vehicle?

When its closed, the only thing between your inside skin of roof and the van ceiling, is plywood and a mattress.

Sorry I see what you mean yes they are at least as good as a standard roof!

Depending on the roof manufacturer - SCA and REIMO for example, there will be an isulated core withing the fibreglass. Some cheaper models wont have this feature. This being one of the reasons they are cheaper due to manufacturing process.
