Hi all,

looking for some advice I’ve just had my van done and I’d bought a roof box to give me extra space, conversion company feel it’s a risk leaving it up as the pop top isn’t easy to lift with this on and it is currently empty.

do I take down and leave off or do I try and upgrade struts but could it compromise the rear brackets? Anyone had similar issues?

my roof box is the Thule XL 490 (£488 Halfords )

Wow you are driving a 3000kg van and you've filled it up so much you need a top box... How much stuff are you taking?? :slow rofl:

You could always look at a towbar storage box? If you had a towbar that is.

Personally I wouldnt want the additional loading on the pop top which it may not be designed for. You could always try and check the pop top manufacturers literature to see if there is an allowance for it?
