hi chaps, this a question regarding my b7 passat not t6 but i am sure someone here will have the answer.

my current towbar module is coded as follows

Address 69: Trailer (J345) Labels:. 7N0-907-383.clb
Part No SW: 7N0 907 383 HW: 7N0 907 383
Component: Anhaenger H09 0120
Revision: 3I001003 Serial number: 00008200152000
Coding: 4106040001000000
Shop #: WSC 05314 000 00001
VCID: 73E5A0F4D2CCEA1C0F-8026

it is a swivelling setup with pin 9 only coming live when a trailer is detected. i would like pin 9 live all the time as i want to use the 12v for other purposes when sat still such as battery charging. sadly, there is no info in the long coding.

now, when i fitted electrics to my 3t5 superb i used module 1k0 907 383 and allowed coding of pin 9 to be changed as follows

BYTE 0 : 00 control module not coded/ 01 rest of the world/ 02 North American Region/ 03 Australia
BYTE 1 : 00 control module not coded/ 0D Type/ Swiveling Function: Fixed/ detachable/ Preparation [PR-1D1/1D2/1D7]
BYTE 2: no info
BYTE 3 : 00 terminal 30 Output switched (Pin 9) NOT active/ 01 terminal 30 Output switched (Pin 9) active/ 02 terminal 30 Output switched (Pin 9) active while Trailer connected
BYTE 4 : 00 terminal 30 Output (Pin 10/Chargin Relay) NOT active/ 01 terminal 30 Output (Pin 10/Chargin Relay) active [OLD]/ 02 terminal 30 Output (Pin 10/Chargin Relay) active while Trailer connected/ 01 terminal 30 Output (Pin 10/Chargin Relay) active [NEW]
BYTE 5 : no info
BYTE 6 : no info
BYTE 7 : no info

would anyone suggest anyway that i could change the long coding to allow what i want based on the info from what i suspect is a very similar module.

OBDeleven suggests the following for 7N0 907 383, H09 0101 (in Passat MY11 LHD) - with coding 41_06_04_00_00_00_00_00
Byte 0: 4x=VW, 0x=Audi; x1=Rest of World, x2=North American region, x3=Australia, x0=Not coded
Byte 1: no info
Byte 2: 04 Towbar button installed (in Swedish)???
Byte 3..7: no info
So not much.
Both are made by Hella so a try shouldn't hurt?

bit of a gamble, what do you suggest i change? it has a button yes to deploy the neck of the bar.

Have you checked is there anything to try under "Output tests" - although not likely as there isn't even coding data?

I'd be tempted to play with the set bits in byte 1 (now 06 = 0000 0110).
