I've had a price of £100 +vat to paint a couple of primed mirror caps. Does this sound ok or are they having me in the net?

Travel lite sell a variety of painted caps for far less than that and they’ve got a 20% discount code @ the mo

Paid £75 (inc) to get a pair of unprimed genuine mirror caps sprayed in gloss black about this time last year. Very nice finish too.

I live in the poor north though.

As in just the 2 top halves of a wing mirror? No removal of them, just handing them the caps to be painted?

Yes, they’re brand new, just need taking out the bag and painting.
It does sound strong money, but working closely with a bodyshop, I can see why.

This all might be obvious to you, but others may not see where these types of prices come from. A good bodyshop will need to allow booth/oven time, prep, paint, flat and polish if needed.
So I can see why some places might be more expensive than others, depending on their normal day to day work.

Knowing what my bodyshop charges, I'd say between £80 and £100 is about right.

Don't you have anything else small that needs painting Indium Grey? You might find bundling a couple of other items doesn't push up the initial price too much if that makes sense.
