Nice, not been to shell island for a few years. Last time I went my tent pole bent on my North Face VE 25 summit series tent, they use them on Everest. It was a bit windy to say the least. Enjoy.

Gets abit windy on there at times mate we just use a little 4 man gelert dome and a 4.5x4.5 mtr Coleman event shelter with clip on sides just got to pick a good pitch, usually were you can see the idiots trying to drive threw the causeway when the tide is coming in over the road

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Had a very good time camping but wasn't expecting unwelcome visitors around 1am in the morning in the event shelter, caught a badger helping himself to my little daughters bannanas x2 and a loaf of bread.
Was abit scary coming out of the tent in just me boxer shorts and being confronted by a bloody scary looking badger, glad he just turned round and buggered off when shone the torch on him.

Nice photos @andythom188 . The last time we camped on Shell Island was around 25 years ago. We did look at trying it again a couple of years ago but we were put off by some of the negative reviews. Later reviews look like it may have improved a bit though so maybe time to give it another go.

It was nice and quiet not many people on she'll island over the weekend ,there was a silver t6 California a few t4 campers and 4or 5 t2s mostly high tops.
It does get very busy and rowdy some times in summer holidays and would not go again on a bank holiday just to busy for me
