One not so careful owner

I have heard of a few fires with old vw vans. My old 1980 T3 used to pump fuel from main tank to small tanks near front doors then down to engine bay , a lot of this in rubber hoses .
If a hose split or came off it could dump fuel onto a hot engine with bad results.
Feel sorry for owners in above post as old vans are hard to replace and for damage to bushland .
Didn't mean to hit like button on above story , my thumb must of brushed it reading post.

The T3 didn't pump fuel from the main tank to the smaller tanks then to the engine bay - the small tanks are expansion tanks! ( Needed due to the shape of the fuel tank )

I do understand how it all works, I was just simply making a general post. I pulled all that system out when doing up the van 25 years ago. I guess I must be more accurate in future.
