Older V-Dubs

How much are you looking for?
Rat look Patina 1967 Volkswagen Beetle

1968 model registered late ‘67, Tax and MOT exempt (most recent MOT expired January 2021), Runs and drives, starts, stops and goes. Can be driven away. Please remember it is 54 years old this year so won’t be like a modern car in any way,

Overall it is pretty solid - has had some bits welded in the past, Most recently the spare wheel well last year, steel wings are good too, Heater channels will need attention soon - new complete VW Heritage heater channels supplied along with offside rear bumper mount repair panel,

Narrowed adjustable front beam - has to be driven with care as it scrapes on manhole covers but gets loads of attention! Recent new parts include a brand new battery, battery isolator switch, black door cards front and rear, washer bottle, and a Mexican blanket,

Comes with a MASSIVE history file dating right back to first service, original green logbook, old MOTs, owners manual, Haynes manual,

Retro roof rack included,

Has been painted with Rusty Paint on wings down both sides (not bare metal or structural rust/corrosion) so can be left as is or could be flatted back and painted over if preferred,

There are a few bits to tinker with/work on but it can be driven around as a project or rolling resto - engine oil leak, sticky starter solenoid, speedo, interior carpeting and probably needs a good going over the brakes, bearings etc.

Reason for sale - lost interest and have seen something else I want to buy.

Located in Essex, near Southend on Sea. Approx 20 miles from Jct 29 of M25.

Looking for £3450 or near offer Thanks for looking.

Started this guy for the first time in 4 years a couple of weeks back... got a short list of things to do, oil change, hoses, seals, link pins, cylinder head, new tyres, just enough to get him back on the road.

We’ve got 74 in need of rebuilding... I need to learn to weld first!

definitely all fuel and breather hoses and take brakes apart too. Nice beetle by the way, also problem with any welding work costs escalate ask me how I know !!!!

Sorry to be dragging this post on, had an evening bare metaling paint and cutting away old repairs just rear quarters to fit that we have. Having issues with front panel useless couriers have lost front panel and as usual denying all knowledge. Will be glad if things ever get back to normal and the couriers have to actually give a service.

Got this bucket of bolts back together and fired it up today. New heads, seals, hose and freshened up the tin wear etc. Just should have done the fuel pump too by the sounds of it.

like to see an engine original as it was meant to be, ours was like that ages ago bet without choke solenoid its a pita to start. Have now switched to electric regulated pump to aid twin carbs

I’ve always kept the choke solenoid disconnected, the oil bath suffocates it a bit on start up.

I’d love a twin carb set up but with set of vintage Okrasa and matching Fram oil filter, like a Porsche super 90

Nice who built it ? had a larger engine in our old bay years back if I remember with its 70s aero dynamics it scared the crap out of us......

Hector Howe built this engine, he's based over in Suffolk and built quite a few engines for the Outlaw Flat 4 racers.
It's going into my squareback, when I eventually finish the new fuel system and button up the tinware.
